There is something so peaceful about winter maternity sessions in Charlotte — especially when February surprises us with a warm, glowing afternoon.
Allie and Kyle’s maternity session at Jetton Park was one of those unexpectedly perfect days. Even though it was technically winter, we were lucky with soft temperatures, calm lake water, and the most romantic overcast skies. And honestly? Jetton Park is always beautiful — even without spring blooms.
Why Jetton Park Is Perfect for Charlotte Maternity Photos
If you're searching for the best locations for maternity photos in Charlotte, Jetton Park in Cornelius is always at the top of my list.
What makes it so special:
Stunning Lake Norman views
The natural red clay shoreline that photographs beautifully
Sandy, neutral tones that create a timeless backdrop
Tall trees and soft greenery year-round
Gorgeous light, even on cloudy days
The contrast of the red clay against the soft blue lake water creates such a warm, organic color palette — especially for maternity sessions. Even without a ton of blooms in February, the scenery feels natural, elevated, and effortlessly beautiful.
And cloudy days? They’re actually a dream for maternity photography. The soft light wraps around mom beautifully and creates the most flattering, glowing skin tones.

A Warm February Surprise
February maternity sessions in the Charlotte area can go either way — but Allie and Kyle got lucky. The air was warm enough to be comfortable, the lake was still, and the park was quiet.
That peaceful winter calm allowed us to move slowly, focus on connection, and capture that sweet anticipation before their baby arrives.
Maternity sessions are about so much more than documenting a bump — they’re about capturing this once-in-a-lifetime season. The way he holds her. The way she rests her hands on her belly. The quiet excitement in between laughter.
What to Wear for a Jetton Park Maternity Session
Jetton Park pairs beautifully with:
Soft neutrals (cream, beige, white, soft blue)
Flowing dresses that move with the lake breeze
Textures like knit, chiffon, or cotton
Barefoot moments on the sandy shoreline
The red clay and natural shoreline tones make lighter colors pop while still keeping everything timeless and elegant.
Planning Your Charlotte Maternity Session
I recommend scheduling your maternity session between 28–34 weeks for the most beautiful, comfortable results. Jetton Park works year-round, but late winter and early spring offer quiet parks and soft, dreamy light.
If you’re looking for a Charlotte maternity photographer who captures timeless, natural, connection-focused images, I would love to plan something beautiful for you. Whether we’re at Jetton Park, on Lake Norman, or somewhere meaningful to you — we’ll create images that feel warm, elegant, and completely you.
Allie and Kyle, thank you for trusting me with this special season. Your little one is already so loved 🤍
